Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy explains the information Gather & Glory uses to run the alpha game, protect accounts, and save your progress.
Account and game information
We store your player name, email address, and a one-way password hash used to check your password. Your password is not stored as readable text.
We also store your character, skills, inventory, equipment, resources, quests, combat and activity records, guild membership, messages and drafts, conduct reports, notifications, preferences, and account or gameplay timestamps.
What other players can see
Your player or character name and game information can appear in profiles, rankings, nearby-player lists, markets, guilds, and other social features. In-game letters are visible to their participants. Your account email is not displayed in public player profiles or used as your in-game name.
Keep sensitive personal information out of game messages and public content. Reporting a letter stores a copy of its content with the report for moderator review. Removing a letter from your mailbox does not necessarily remove its stored content or another participant's copy.
Why we use this information
We use information to sign you in, operate the game, save progress, deliver messages and notifications, send password-reset emails, protect accounts, investigate abuse, and diagnose errors. If you contact Support, the information you send is used to understand and respond to your request.
Cookies and browser storage
A session cookie keeps your sign-in and security state as you move between pages. Browser storage also remembers Page Guide preferences and temporary travel-transition state. Blocking cookies can prevent sign-in; clearing browser storage resets those local preferences.
The game currently has no advertising, third-party analytics, or payment system, and does not use optional advertising or analytics cookies.
Account protection and recovery email
Sign-in, account creation, and password recovery use request limits to reduce abuse. To enforce these limits, the game uses network and account identifiers in a form that does not retain the original address or name in the limit records. Operational logs record events and errors to help diagnose problems.
Password recovery queues reset emails for eligible accounts using the account email address. Delivery can be delayed or fail. Reset links expire and can be used only once; a replacement link invalidates the earlier one. The game stores a one-way representation to check a link and an encrypted temporary copy for email delivery.
Service providers and disclosures
Hosting and email services may process information needed to run the site and deliver recovery emails. Email delivery involves the account address and reset message. The game has no feature for selling personal information or sharing it with advertisers. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law or to address a security incident.
How long information remains
Account and gameplay records remain in the alpha unless changed or removed. There is no fixed deletion schedule for those records. Recovery links and related request limits expire; expired recovery records and queued delivery copies are removed by cleanup processes, which may run after expiry.
Operational logs rotate as they reach configured size limits. Database backups may contain account and game information. A change to the live game does not necessarily remove earlier copies from logs or backups. Alpha resets and wipes may also remove data.
Security
The game uses password hashing, protected recovery links, encrypted recovery-email queue data, and request limits. These measures reduce risks but cannot guarantee complete security. Use a password you do not share with other services, and never give anyone your password or reset link.
Your choices and requests
You can review your account information and change your password in Account Settings. Self-service account export and deletion are not currently available. For access, correction, export, or deletion requests, contact Support and identify the account involved. We may need to verify that the account is yours. What can be provided or removed depends on applicable law and technical constraints; immediate or complete removal is not promised.
Adults only
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Gather & Glory. Users under 18 may not create accounts. Registration does not collect a date of birth or verify age. Please report an account you believe belongs to someone under 18 through Support.
Changes and contact
Players may access the game from different locations, and applicable local laws may differ. We will update the date above when material changes to this policy are published.
